Padlocks on purses and cards, pinkies cocked and ready as sixteen enjoyed sandwiches, cakes and scones washed down with samovars of tea and jugs of coffee. I didn’t notice anyone take up the offer of wine or prosecco; what a sober lot we were! A good time was had by all in The Barn at the Heart of the Country at Swinfen. Numerous outlets were open and ready to relieve us of our money, even a Christmas Shop, it felt strange looking at Christmas decorations at the beginning of October. We enjoyed ourselves so much that it was suggested that we have a repeat next year. A big thank-you to Ruth for thinking about afternoon tea and organising everything for us.
The November meeting is to be a Christmas craft evening on 6th November at the Martin Heath Hall, Christ Church. I am looking forward to making tree decorations; they might not match up to my children’s and grandchildren’s but one must try. Pearl has kindly circulated all the information, please book in with Ruth by 30th October.
Our Christmas meeting is to be at the Old Vicarage on 4th December, please book in with Pearl by 10th November. All information has been circulated by email.
Val Harris has sadly suspended her membership as she is unable to drive due to severe eye problems. We wish her all the best in the circumstances and sincerely hope not to lose contact with her.
I look forward to laughter and fun over the craft table in November.
