Hope everyone is staying well and not getting too fed up with yet another lockdown. Let us hope things improve and we all manage to see our families at Christmas.
Obviously not a great deal to report. I was sorry that the Christmas Lunch is not going to take place and thank you to Pearl for making all the arrangements. Let’s hope we can get together in the new year sometime.
Obviously the usual ceremonies for Remembrance Sunday at the National Arboretum were not able to take place so David and I went on Monday at 11.00 am and laid wreaths on behalf of Lichfield 41 Club and Tangent. Peter Good, National President of 41 Club had already laid a wreath on behalf of National. Mary and John Ward and Elaine and Gordon Macnab came along to keep us company and take photos. The Arboretum was very quiet but everyone there kept to the social distancing rules and it felt right that we should pay our respects to those who so bravely gave their lives for us. David and I both said poems and I said the ever popular “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae.
I would like to send best wishes and love from us all to Wendy Webb and Helen Dempster who are presently both having a difficult time.
I will organise another Zoom get together soon and hope that a few more of you might be able to join us this time.
