Lichfield Tangent – February Meeting
Our February meeting was at Mabel’s Tea Rooms or “Mabelling” as it is known in our family.
Nineteen of us ventured out in the rain to Curborough to consume copious amounts of tea, sandwiches and cake. We were served in the traditional fashion with three tiered stands, tea in pots and china crockery. I am sure that Mabel’s thought that I must be undernourished, being gluten-free, as I was served double the quantity of food for a normal appetite. It didn’t go to waste – goody bags were taken home and much appreciated.
Brenda won the raffle – she was delighted and Pat Dimeloe was relieved, as she kept saying “if I win again, I shall ask them to draw another ticket”.
By the time you read this missive, Ladies Night will have been and gone. I am really looking forward to a brilliant evening out in my posh frock.
Another Tangent year draws to a close with only one more meeting before the AGM. Could I urge members to please think about taking a post on the executive committee, the jobs are not difficult and filling them all enables us to run smoothly as a club.
Our next meeting is Tuesday 4th March at the Old Vicarage. Pearl has circulated the details.
