My very best wishes to you all for a happy and healthy 2018.
Twenty of us enjoyed a very pleasant first meeting of the year at The Royal Oak in Kings Bromley. The food was very good, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and judging from the volume of chatter, we all had plenty to talk about! Many thanks to Jean for planning this meeting, and I hope you are feeling better soon. There were a couple of bits of business: the final sum raised by Tangles at the Debenhams evening was £1757, a staggering amount and the result of lots of hard work by Tanglers, so well done to them.
Rob Horton has reminded us of this years Ladies Night, on 10th February at The Old School House, Weeford. Pearl has circulated details of this. I also reminded everyone that it was time to think of taking a role in the running of our Club for the next year; if we do not have people standing for key roles we are unlikely to be able to continue, which would be an enormous shame.
On a personal note, I would like to thank you all so much for the love and support I have received since my diagnosis of thyroid cancer in early December. You are a lovely bunch! I am currently undergoing radiotherapy and am keeping as positive as possible about the future.
Our next meeting is on 6th February at the Vicarage, Branston, where our speaker, Neil Wayham, will talk on “Clean,Court and Bowled”!
